The Nago Cherry Blossom Festival takes over Nago Castle Park and the centre of Nago on the last weekend of January. The 64th festival is planned for 30–31 January 2027.
Nago Castle Park (名護城公園) takes in the old Nago castle site (名護城, read Nangusuku), and the city's tourism association says its kanhizakura bloom deep pink from late January to mid-February. On festival weekend the main stage stands in Sakura Park, and the street at the Nago crossroads (名護十字路) closes to cars from 11:00 to 20:30 for parades and street performances.
The association's 2027 page lists school brass band parades and a women's association dance parade, with a costume parade and the Nago Sakura Taiko drummers later in the weekend. The Hana no Sato garden fair and plant market runs at Nago fishing port from 29 to 31 January 2027, and the port also takes the festival's temporary car park.
