Maedomari Port on the east side of Iheya-jima is where Iheya Village's Ferry Iheya 3 arrives from Unten Port in Nakijin after 80 minutes. It sails twice a day, leaving Iheya at 9:00 and 13:00.
Maedomari is the prefecture-run harbour on Iheya's east coast that the village ferry uses, and the village sells tickets at its window here. From 6 October 2026 every passenger buying at the window fills in a boarding form, which the village brought in so it can keep a full passenger list in an emergency. Online tickets skip that step. They go on sale 30 days ahead, and you board with a QR code.
The village asks passengers to be aboard 10 minutes before sailing. Anyone shipping a rental car should check the company allows it on Iheya, since the village warns that some Okinawa rental firms forbid outer-island trips or drop insurance and roadside cover there.
