The site is a private field about 10 minutes north of the airport by car, open only to tour guests, with reclining seats and a flush toilet. A certified star guide talks you round the sky, and then a local plays island songs on the sanshin. The guide will also take your photo against the stars.
Since the Nobare Cape star tours close in December and January, this is the one to book on a winter visit. Pickups run from the Ishigaki port terminal and a list of hotels from Fusaki to the ANA InterContinental, so you can do it without a car. If you drive, follow the staff from Osato bus stop, since the site is hard to find in the dark.
