Ishigaki-yaki fuses glass into the glaze over an oil-spot tenmoku base, and the pieces come out of the kiln looking like shallow reef water. In the class you shape your own piece from a kilo of clay, and the kiln's potters fire it. The parcel comes eight or nine months later, so a February class arrives around the autumn.
