The dojo teaches Okinawan kenpo in the line of Shigeru and Takehito Nakamura, and the session pairs technique with the history of the Ryukyu kingdom and its weapons arts. Sensei Matsuda began training in 1965 under the Nakamuras and Seikichi Odo and has practised for 59 years. The dojo presents its style as built around practical effectiveness and precise body mechanics.
You train at either the Nago dojo in Onaka or the Nakijin dojo in Nakasone, and the booking confirms which. Bring clothes you can move in, or rent a gi at the dojo. Children from 10 can join, and the group must be at least two people.
