ZAMAMI LIFE
ザマミライフSnorkelZamami-jima
ZAMAMI LIFE is a Zamami boat-snorkelling and skin-diving guide with more than 20 years on the island who takes small groups to over 30 sites, including turtle spots out of reach from the shore, from ¥8,000 for a two-site trip of about 2.5 hours.

The guide moved to Zamami more than 25 years ago and has led snorkellers for over 20, working only from the boat. That lets the trip reach coral gardens and turtle grounds you cannot swim to from the uninhabited-island drop-offs, and the guide picks the sites on the day from more than 30 in rotation. Each stop gives you 30 to 50 minutes in the water.
Bookings run through a Japanese form, and the shop asks guests over 70, and over-65s with little snorkelling experience, to talk to it first. The boat sails with two people or more on the longer trips.
