Ishigaki Sunset Beach

Ishigaki Sunset Beach is a natural beach at Kuura on the Hirakubo peninsula in northern Ishigaki, with clear water, coral close in, paid showers and summer-only marine sports. As the name says, it faces the sunset.

Ishigaki City's tourism site describes the water at Kuura as unusually clear, with coral and tropical fish for snorkellers and wakeboarding among the summer activities. The counter for marine sports opens from early summer to autumn, and showers are paid.
On a long ride to the northern cape it makes a stop on the peninsula road, and the west-facing beach lines up the sun as it drops into the sea.
