Kudaka Kaiun runs a high-speed boat (about 15 minutes, ¥760 one way) and Ferry Kudaka (about 25 minutes, ¥670) from Azama Port in Nanjo to Kudaka-jima, six round trips a day between them.
Kudaka is a sacred island, and its own site asks every visitor to read the island rules before coming. The boats leave from Azama in Chinen, and the two of them share six round trips a day. Fares on the island site and on Nanjo City's tourism page differ by ¥10, and we couldn't load Kudaka Kaiun's own website to settle it.
Renting a bike on the island is the easy option. Nanjo's tourism page puts a lap at about two hours by rented bike, and the island site asks riders to go slowly, since many lanes are unpaved and the village streets are narrow with blind corners.
