Ryukyu Air Commuter (RAC)
琉球エアーコミューターAirlineTakes bikes
Ryukyu Air Commuter is the JAL group's turboprop airline for Okinawa's small islands, flying to Yonaguni, Tarama, Yoron and between Miyako and Ishigaki, and it carries a bicycle inside JAL's 20 kg allowance with no guarantee that a long box fits.
RAC flies the short hops: Naha to Yonaguni and Yoron, Ishigaki to Yonaguni, Miyako to Tarama and Ishigaki, and a share of Naha–Miyako and Naha–Kume-jima, per JTA's August 2026 route report. It sells everything through JAL.
JAL's rules allow a bike, and the aircraft set the limits. JAL's guide length for long items is 220 cm on the DHC-8-400 cargo-combi and 210 cm on the ATR 42-600 and 72-600, and on RAC flights a single piece over 32 kg or a total over 45 kg isn't accepted. JAL says it can't guarantee space on these small aircraft, so a rider heading for Yonaguni or Tarama should have a plan B.
