Tarama Port is the ferry harbour on Tarama-jima, where Tarama Kaiun's Ferry Tarama III arrives from Hirara on Miyako at 11:00 and leaves at 13:00 every day except Sunday. The ferry usually berths at Futenma in the southeast and on some days at Maedomari on the north coast.
Tarama has two ferry berths. The usual one is Futenma in the southeast, and Maedomari sits on the north coast at the end of the prefectural road from the village office. Tarama Kaiun's daily notice says which one the ferry is using, and on 8 October 2026 it was Maedomari.
Tarama's cattle auctions reshape the ferry timetable on the 19th of January, February, April, June, August and October and on 9 December, when the boat from Hirara stays overnight on Tarama and sails back at 8:00 the next morning. Tarama Kaiun's October 2026 notice also listed no sailing from Hirara on the day after the auction.
