Maesato Beach is the netted, lifeguarded resort beach of ANA InterContinental Ishigaki in Maezato, east of town, with a children's water play area and free parking for non-guests. Its rental house closes from December to February.
The hotel opens Maesato Beach to day visitors, with free parking on the Ocean Wing side and changing rooms and showers behind the Leisure House. Ishigaki City's tourism site notes the lifeguards and the jellyfish net, and it points out a play area for children in the shallows.
Towels and parasol sets cost extra for non-guests. Lifeguards will call back anyone who snorkels or paddles outside the marked swim area.
