Sakuraguchi is a dive site south of Ishigaki town with hard corals and fields of soft coral, and local shop Pushy Nushima takes divers there when the winter north wind blows hard, which makes it a likely site for a February dive.

Pushy Nushima lists Sakuraguchi as the area its boats visit in winter, when strong north winds close the north-west coast. The shop singles out the soft corals, which sway in the current like a field of flowers, alongside the hard corals.
For a winter trip, ask shops which south-side sites they are using that week.
