Kikuei Shokudo is a long-running local diner near Hirara port that opens at 9:00 for Miyako soba breakfasts.

Kikuei sits a few blocks from the Hirara ferry terminal and keeps morning hours: it opens at nine and closes at two. A July 2026 reviewer counted every dish on the board at ¥800, and reviewers describe a room full of locals. Try the tamate soba if it is on, or eat a plain Miyako soba before a long day on the bike. It is closed on Sundays.
