The Yukishio Museum in Karimata is the free showroom and shop of Miyako's snow salt, and its café tops soft serve with flavoured salts.
Yukishio is Miyako's powder-fine snow salt, and the museum at its Karimata salt works explains how it is made with videos and displays. Admission is free. The café sells the soft serve with three salts on the table to sprinkle, and one 2026 reviewer found the interior smaller than expected. It is 16.5 km from the airport on the road to the Ikema Ohashi, so it makes a natural stop on the north loop.
