The Yukiya Arashiro Cycling Event is a non-competitive ride on Ishigaki with the pro cyclist Yukiya Arashiro on the last weekend of November; the 2026 ride is on Sunday 29 November with about 115 km and 1,200 m of climbing, from ¥22,000.

Arashiro was born on Ishigaki and was the first Japanese rider to finish all three Grand Tours, and the city's cycle-tourism office built the event around him. The 2025 ride started from Funagura Park with 118 km and 89 km courses, aid stations at farms and community halls handing out mango smoothies, onisasa rice balls, sata andagi and beef soup, and a downpour on the back half.
For 2026 the organisers have added a free course tracked by an app, so riders can head for the aid stations they want inside the time limit, and e-bikes that meet Japanese rules are welcome. Saturday 28 November brings check-in and children's races, and Okinawa and Ishigaki residents ride for ¥11,000 without the party. Lights, reflectors, a helmet and gloves are required, and the rules ask for single file and full stops at red lights.
