- 12:30lunchSquid-ink soba at Parlor Hibiki
- 14:00restAfternoon on the beach or a nap
- 19:00dinnerDinner at Aka Lodge
Aka is small enough that the whole ride takes less than an hour of pedalling, so the day belongs to the water. Nishibama has one of the reefs the Ministry of the Environment rates highest in the Keramas, and the Aka Ohashi gives a free look at the turtles in the channel.
In winter the north wind blows straight into Nishibama, so swap the order on a windy morning: bridges first, beach in the afternoon if it calms. Rent bikes in the village, or bring your own on Ferry Zamami 3 as cargo.
