By our route data the Ikema loop climbs only 197 m in 40.7 km, so the distance is the challenge, and an e-bike turns it into an easy day for the less keen rider. The ride north on Route 230 faces the winter north-north-east wind, and the coast road home has it behind you.
Ikema itself is small, 10.1 km round its coast, and the wetland in the middle is the largest in Okinawa Prefecture. Ride home by the west-coast farm road past the Sea Park, where the traffic thins and the wind pushes.
