The cape sits on high cliffs at the end of the Sakieda peninsula, and Ishigaki City's tourism site describes the sea below as a deep blue with Iriomote lying across the horizon. Easter lilies cover the slopes with big white flowers in spring.
It is a quiet detour off the west-side road on the island's western edge, and the city's tourism site says many people come for the sunset. Dive boats work the sites below the light.
Worth knowing
- Bring a layer for the walk back; the cape catches every breeze.
