The Ryugu-jo Observatory is a three-storey tower styled on the Dragon Palace of folklore, and from its hilltop on Kurima it looks across to Yonaha Maehama and Irabu.

The tower copies Ryugu-jo, the undersea palace of Japanese legend, and climbs three storeys above the hill on Kurima. From the top the white sand of Yonaha Maehama lies across the water, with the Kurima Ohashi on one side and Irabu on the other. Below, the sea shades from sand to coral.
It is the natural turnaround on a Kurima ride, two minutes from the Marukami soba shop and close to the Rakuen no Kajitsu café. Bring a layer for the top floor in winter. There are toilets at the car park and a souvenir shop and restaurant nearby.
Worth knowing
- Visit before lunch, then eat at Rakuen no Kajitsu next door.
