Okuma Beach in Kunigami is a 1 km white-sand resort beach on the Yanbaru coast that day visitors can use for ¥1,500 per adult, with snorkelling allowed inside the swim area.
The sand runs for about 1 km in front of the cottages of Okuma Private Beach & Resort. The site was a US military transmitting station before part of the beach came back in 1977, and the headland next door is still a US forces recreation area called the Okuma Rest Center.
Day visitors pay ¥1,500 at the beach desk, parking included, and get the beach, the cafés and the activity desk. Snorkelling is allowed inside the swim area with a free life jacket. On a Yanbaru ride it makes a lunch-and-swim stop on the way north from Nago to Cape Hedo.
