Izakaya Bamboo is an izakaya and inn three minutes' walk from Nishihama beach on Hateruma, open for lunch and dinner except Tuesdays, with its sister Cafe Blue opened in 2026.
Bamboo is the closest food to Nishihama, three minutes up from the sand, and it serves lunch as well as dinner, which few places on the island do. The Taketomi Town tourism association's 2026 listing adds Cafe Blue, opened this year and closed on Sundays, and notes English spoken, groups of up to 30, Wi-Fi and takeaway. A 2023 Tabelog reviewer found a table here after another place turned them away. The owners will collect you if you call ahead.
