Kohama by e-bike: Ufudaki to the Sugar Road
e bikeCouples with different energy levels, since Kohama's hills reward an e-bike, and anyone staying at the resorts in the south-east.
The Kohama e-bike day climbs to the 99 m Ufudaki lookout, rides out to Hosaki facing Iriomote and finishes on the Sugar Road through the cane, 13.8 km with 156 m of climbing that an e-bike makes easy for both riders.

The Taketomi Town Tourism Association recommends e-bikes on Kohama because of its hills, and our route data counts 156 m of climbing on a 13.8 km loop. Do Ufudaki first, while legs are fresh, and the view takes in every Yaeyama island except Yonaguni.
Hosaki and the Sugar Road are the island's two big moments, and the counter-clockwise loop puts them before and after lunch. In February only a fifth of the loop faces the wind, by our route data.
