Ufudaki is Kohama's 99 m summit just above the village, and Taketomi Town says the top shows eight islands of Yaeyama, with only Yonaguni out of view. It also holds a beacon-fire site from the Ryukyu era.

Kohama sits near the middle of Yaeyama, and Taketomi Town counts eight islands in view from the top of Ufudaki. The hill also carried one of the Sakishima beacon-fire stations, and the stations formed a chain that signalled ship sightings across the islands.
The climb is short, and the bigger effort is the ride up through the village. In a winter north-easterly the summit takes the full wind, so bring a layer.
