The InterContinental has the Manza peninsula to itself, with Cape Manzamo across the water from the garden pool and a broad beach on the other side that feels cut off from the outside world. There are 400 rooms. Catamaran sails and horse rides keep families busy. The airport is about 50 minutes by expressway or 100 minutes on the limousine bus.
The garden pool stays open through most of the year and only closes for a maintenance period in winter, so ask for those dates before a February booking. There's no indoor pool. Rental bicycles go out for loops of the resort and the Onna villages, and Route 58 north toward Nago makes the longer ride. A ¥500 resort fee per person over five is added at check-out to care for the protected coast.
