Hotel Anteroom Naha

Anteroom means waiting room, and UDS opened this Naha hotel after its Kyoto original of 2011 as a place where guests meet art and culture as much as each other. It stands at Maejima on the Tomari harbour, and every room looks over the water from a balcony. Artists made several of the rooms: Toru Kamiya's concept room paints Okinawa's nature in gradients of colour, and Yu Kurosaka covered the walls of another with the street trees and stone walls of the town. The gallery downstairs changes its shows.

The hotel has no pool. Jalan's 185 reviewers rate it 4.6 out of 5, and the breakfast placed third in Jalan's 2025 awards for Okinawa hotels of its size. The Tomarin terminal for the Kerama ferries is close, which makes this a stylish night before a crossing with a bike. Ask the hotel where the bike can go.
