Araha Beach

Araha Beach is a 600 m managed sand beach in Chatan's Araha Park, with lifesavers and showers from 10 April to 31 October in 2026. It faces west for the sunset and sits about 2.7 km of flat riding south of American Village.

Araha is the locals' beach in Chatan, with a long strip of sand, a park behind it and a parlour selling shaved ice by the management building. The beach is managed through the swim season, with lifesavers on watch and the swimming hours posted month by month. Chatan's own cycling guide uses it as the turnaround for an easy ride from American Village past Sunset Beach.
Families come for the sand and stay for the BBQ area in the evening. Out of season the park stays open and the sand belongs to walkers and sunset watchers.
