Tomarin is the terminal building on Route 58, and the Kume-jima ferries and both Kerama villages keep their windows on the ground floor. The harbour has two sides, so check which pier your boat uses before you queue. Zamami Village sends Ferry Zamami 3 from the south bank in front of Tomarin and the high-speed Queen Zamami 3 from the north bank, about 10 minutes away on foot. Tokashiki Village sells tickets at Tomarin and at a north-bank counter that opens an hour before each sailing.
Kume Shosen reckons on 15 minutes by Yui Rail from the airport to Miebashi and another 15 minutes on foot to the port, or about 15 minutes by taxi outside the weekday rush. A taxi at the morning or evening peak can take close to an hour by the company's own estimate. There's a Lawson with an ATM and a currency exchange machine inside the port.

Worth knowing
- Allow time to walk between the south bank and the north bank; Zamami Village puts it at about 10 minutes, and there's no parking near the north-bank counter.
- Tomarin's multi-storey car park and the Tomari wharf underground car park both charge by the hour, and Kume Shosen sends drivers there because the port has no free parking.
- Take cash from the Lawson ATM inside the port before you sail; Tokashiki Village warns there's no ATM near Aharen Beach.
