Cycle Plaza Ikehara has run a bike shop in Ishikawa, Uruma, since 1985 and rents road bikes for ¥3,000 a day from a spot between the Onna coast and the Kaichu Doro, about halfway up Okinawa's main island.

Ikehara opened in 1985 as a BMX shop and turned to road bikes ahead of the boom that followed the Kaiho national games in Okinawa, according to the shop's own history. A club of about 50 riders races road and triathlon out of here. The shop lists a single staff member, so the person who sells you a tube is also the one who trues your wheel.
Its suggested loops run west through Onna to Cape Maeda and Cape Manzamo, or east across the Kaichu Doro to Katsuren Castle and Miyagi Island, and both start at the shop door in Ishikawa. Rental restarted in March 2024 with a small fleet, and every booking goes through the shop phone.
