Sleeping on Hamahiga puts you at the quiet end of the Kaichu Doro, a short drive from the boathouse where the e-bikes wait. The causeway is the one stretch where wind matters, so pick a calm day from December to March and the rest is easy riding with an assist.
Do the islands in the order of the route: the salt factory on Miyagi, the turn at Ikei, and Hamahiga last, when lunch and the prayer sites can take as long as they need. Wednesday is the day to avoid, since Shima Parlor closes.
