Hoshizunaso sells itself as a place where guests and hosts swap 'tadaima' and 'okaeri', which is how Japanese families say 'I'm home' and 'welcome back'. Its 16 Japanese rooms are all non-smoking. The beach nearby sees so few people that it feels private, and its early-morning sea kayak trip is a favourite. Free transfers run from the airport and port if you send your flight or ship times.
