Higashi Village Tsutsuji Eco Park

Tsutsuji Eco Park belongs to Higashi village and covers ground the size of about five Tokyo Domes at Taira, on the Yanbaru east coast. You can sleep in a cottage, a bungalow or the campsite. Cottage A sleeps up to eight around a big wooden table and has heating and an air purifier, and Cottage B has a slope for wheelchair users. Canoeing and the prefecture's first dam-lake observation boat run on the biggest dam lake in Okinawa, and park golf and river trekking fill the rest of the day.

In February the cottage heating earns its keep, and stargazing is on when the sky clears. It suits a family or a group of riders on a budget who want space and a kitchen table on the east coast. Pay at check-in on site. Ask the park office about storing bikes in the cottage.
