Michi-no-eki Ogimi on Route 58 in Tsuha, Ogimi, is a roadside station and Yanbaru forest visitor centre where a café and a produce shop sit below a lookout over the sea to Kouri-jima.
The station sits at the start of Yanbaru National Park, and its visitor centre explains how to walk the forest safely before you head in. A 25-minute dome film covers the same ground, and the lookout faces the East China Sea with Kouri-jima on the horizon. Restaurant Yanbaru Seaside and the Kugani parlour feed people coming off Route 58.
Riders can stop for a cold drink and a toilet on the long coast road between Nago and Hentona. The visitor centre closes on Wednesdays; the shop and the restaurant keep their own daily hours.
