Aka is the village on Aka-jima, where about 235 people live beside Aka Port, and the Aka Ohashi leads from its lanes on to Geruma and Fukaji.

Aka village sits on the flat ground behind the port on the island's south side, with Maehama in front and the coral centre Sango Yuntaku-kan among the houses. Zamami Village counted 235 people here in May 2024. Everything is walkable, and a bicycle widens the radius to Nishibama and over the bridges.
Most of Aka's kitchens open by day, from the co-op fish counter and a kitchen car to the ten-seat guu guu and the old-house Parlor Hibiki, and Yonamine House pours drinks at night. Kerama deer come into view on the bridged islands in the mornings and evenings, the village says.

Yes. Aka village sits at the start of the 530 m Aka Ohashi to Geruma and the Geruma bridge to Fukaji, and Tatsunojo and Minshuku Harumi rent bicycles in the village.
