Imgya Marine Garden

Imgya Marine Garden is a city park around a calm natural inlet at Tomori on Miyako-jima's south coast, and it has showers and a hilltop lookout.
Miyako city turned this natural inlet into a marine park, with a footpath across its mouth and a lookout on the hill called Gojinyama. Inside the inlet the water is calm enough for dive schools to teach beginners. Where fresh spring water meets the sea, the water shimmers as you swim through it.
Outside the mouth the current runs and changes with the time of day, so keep children inside the inlet. Showers and a kiosk make it an easy family stop on the south-coast road between Shigira and Higashi-Hennazaki.
