Terasaki Beach
寺崎海岸27°04′ N 128°26′ EBeach
Terasaki Beach is a quiet white-sand beach on Yoron's north coast, next to Tumai beach where the film 'Megane' was shot, with no showers or toilets.
Terasaki and its neighbour Tumai are known together as the beaches where dragons live: the tourism association points to a female dragon in the rock at Terasaki and a male one at Tumai. Tumai is the beach in the film 'Megane', where the morning exercise and shaved-ice scenes were shot, though many visitors mix the two up. Terasaki has no showers or toilets, so come prepared, and watch your footing on the boat slipway.
Before you swim
- The boat slipway is slippery.
- Habu-kurage box jellyfish occur in Amami and Okinawan waters from May to October.

The beach faces north into the winter wind; it is a walk and photo stop on grey days.
