Yubujima Chaya is the gelato tea house inside the Yubu-jima botanical garden off Iriomote's east coast, open 10:15–16:00; you reach it by water buffalo cart or on foot across the shallows.

The tea house sits deep in the Yubu-jima garden, a ten-minute walk from where the buffalo carts unload, and Tabelog reviewers from July 2025 to March 2026 make it their break after the crossing. Gelato is the reason to stop; the garden's own restaurant switched to self-service in October 2025 and sells rice and noodle dishes. You pay garden admission to get here, ¥2,000 with the buffalo cart both ways or ¥700 on foot for adults in 2026. The listing notes closures on stormy days.
