Happy Pedal opened in autumn 2018 and keeps a fleet sized for riders from 142 cm to 188 cm: the alloy Allez in five sizes, two CAAD12s and the Diverge with its suspended stem for the gravel roads in the north of the island. Bikes arrive at your hotel at about 8:00, after breakfast, and go back by 17:00. If the day falls apart, staff will fetch you and the bike for requests made before 15:00, which takes some of the risk out of a long lap in the winter north wind.
The options fill the gaps a visitor has. A support car can drop you at a starting point for ¥3,000 plus ¥1,000 a head, and road or gravel wheel upgrades cost ¥5,000 for the first day. Payment is cash in yen, booked by Google Form or phone. Triathletes get bikes the day before the race and without aero bars, so check that your hotel will let you keep one in your room.
