Bise is the old fishing hamlet at the northern tip of Motobu, just past Ocean Expo Park, where sandy lanes run between rows of fukugi trees down to the sea.

The hamlet lies just north of Ocean Expo Park. Fukugi trees were planted around each house as windbreaks, and together they make about 1 km of shaded lanes running out to Bise-zaki; our culture section covers them in full. Cafés and a lunch house now fill some of the old houses along the edge of the grove.
Walk or ride the lanes slowly: people live here, and the paths are narrow. At the far end the coast runs out to the reef at Bise-zaki, with Ie-jima across the water, and a tour cart takes visitors who would rather sit.
