The Eef Beach area in Higa and Janado is Kume-jima's resort strip on the east coast, where hotels and restaurants line 2 km of beach, and the Hatenohama boats leave from Tomari Fisherina a short ride north, near the bridge to Ou-jima.
The strip behind Eef Beach holds most of Kume's beach hotels and a dense run of places to eat, from soba at Three Piece to kuruma-ebi at Kameyoshi and Namiji. The tourism association's Eef Information Plaza sits at Higa 160-57. Tomari Fisherina, where the Hatenohama boats leave, and the causeway to Ou-jima, Tatami-ishi and the Sea Turtle Museum are a short ride up the coast.
Tabelog logged visits at Namiji, Kameyoshi, Nantou Shokurakuen and Three Piece in February 2026, so the strip keeps eating options in winter. Riders can rent e-bikes and city bikes from several places along the beach.
