Iiyanbee is a roadside zenzai stand on Route 331 at Tedokon in Sashiki, Nanjo, that serves Okinawan bean-and-ice zenzai from ¥300 (Nanjo listing) in the afternoons and closes on irregular days.
The owner turned the garage of the family home into a little shed of a shop on the coast road. Okinawan zenzai is sweet kintoki beans buried under fluffy shaved ice, and here the beans are simmered for two hours and spooned on top as well as underneath. Kinako, milk, uji-kintoki and brown-sugar ices fill out the board.
It opens only in the afternoon and closes when the owner decides, so treat it as a bonus on the Route 331 ride between Yonabaru and the Chinen peninsula. Check the shop's Instagram before you make a detour.
