Bibi Beach Itoman

Bibi Beach Itoman is a managed artificial beach beside Itoman fishing port, about 20 minutes from Naha Airport, that opens for swimming from opening day to the end of October and for barbecues all year.
Bibi Beach sits on the reclaimed coast of Nishizaki next to a resort hotel and the port, and it is set up as a full day out, with a swimming area, a marine-sports area, courts for beach volleyball and basketball, a lookout and big shaded barbecue pavilions that seat up to 450. Activities run from the beach, including banana boats and parasailing.
For riders it makes an easy turnaround on a ride south from Naha, with the Itoman fish market at Michi-no-Eki Itoman a few minutes away. In winter it turns into a barbecue park, and from November the gates close on Tuesdays.
Before you swim
- Habu-kurage box jellyfish appear from May to October; Okinawa nets many swimming beaches from June to October against them, and vinegar poured on a sting before removing tentacles is the standard first aid.
- Snorkelling anywhere around the beach is banned for safety except on the operator's own tours.
- Swimming stops when storms come through; the operator posts swimming status on its site.
December to March
From November to March the park opens 8:30–18:30 and closes on Tuesdays, and swimming season is over. Barbecues still run year-round, and car parking falls to ¥100.
