Toguchi no Hama

Toguchi no Hama is an 800 m curve of fine white sand on Irabu's south coast, and it has toilets at both entrances and paid showers at the west end.

Toguchi curves for about 800 m along the south coast of Irabu, and its fine white sand and clear water are known across Okinawa. The west end looks across a narrow channel to Shimoji and the rebuilt Noseto bridge, which reopened in March 2019. The city describes it as the islanders' own beach, fine-sanded and uncrowded.
On most days the water is calm. On 10 August 2015 swells from Typhoon Goni raised waves of about 2 m here, a snorkelling family of four was swept out, and three died. Check the forecast and stay out when an advisory is in force.
