Beer Garden Kokkyo is a Sonai izakaya on Yonaguni known for marlin karaage made from fish landed at Kubura, open for dinner except Thursdays and one of the few places serving on Sunday nights.

The name means 'border', and the house speciality is marlin from the Kubura co-op, deep-fried so juicy that the tourism association says you would not take it for fish. Sashimi platters and champuru cover the rest of the table. A February 2026 reviewer went because most of the island shuts on Sundays and this place does not, and a 2023 reviewer calls a booking essential. At lunch the same family sells boxed meals and side dishes under the name Shisa until they run out.
