Matsubara-ya Seika is a sweet shop in Matsuo near the Makishi Public Market that sells sata andagi, mochi and other Okinawan sweets every day from 9:00 to 20:00.
Look for the orange eaves a few steps from the market. Mapple lists everyday sweets here alongside the ones Okinawan families buy for celebrations, and Tabelog reviewers from August to October 2026 praise the range. A September 2026 reviewer left with brown-sugar and banana sata andagi plus two kinds of mochi. If you can't choose a flavour, the mixed box settles it with plain, kokuto and beni-imo together.
What to order
- A mixed box of plain, kokuto and beni-imo sata andagi
- Muuchii in the weeks around Muuchii day
