Ie-jima Lily Field Park
リリーフィールド公園26°44′ N 127°49′ EParkGood with kids
Ie-jima Lily Field Park on the island's north coast fills with about a million white Easter lilies from late April to early May, when the free Ie-jima Lily Festival runs.
The teppo-yuri is Ie village's official flower, and the park plants a whole stretch of the north shore with it, with paths and a lookout over the fields and the sea. The festival covers Golden Week. In 2026 it ran from 25 April to 5 May, and a free shuttle bus ran 15 minutes from the port.
The ferry from Motobu goes up to eight sailings a day over festival weekends and still fills, and on 2–5 May the village hands out numbered boarding tickets from about 7:30 at Motobu port. In February the park is bare lawn, and the north-coast road past it takes the full force of the winter wind.
Worth knowing
- On a festival day, catch an early boat from Motobu and come back on an afternoon sailing, as the village asks day visitors to do.
